How I work

A site about reading AI claims sceptically should be clear about how its own pages are produced.

How a note is made

I research and draft these notes with AI assistance, then review and edit each one myself before it is published. Nothing goes out without that review.

Every note uses the same structure so that it can be scanned quickly. It opens with an In brief summary. Then come What is happening, Why it matters, What to watch and Sources. If the evidence is thin or disputed, a Confidence note says so.

Sourcing

  • Every factual claim links to a source. Each note ends with the full list of sources used.
  • Primary sources come first. That means the regulation, the specification, the paper or the regulator's own page.
  • Figures supplied by a vendor are labelled as the vendor's figures.
  • The same rule applies to me. The note comparing four AI assistants uses unpublished figures from LLM Scout, which I founded. It is labelled as LLM Scout data. A reader has no outside source to check it against.
  • A claim that I cannot check against a source does not run.
  • Opinion is allowed and is marked as opinion.
  • There are no invented statistics, quotations, case studies or anecdotes on this site.

Corrections

If a note contains an error, I fix it and add a dated correction to that note saying what changed. The "last updated" date at the top of the note changes at the same time. Substantive errors are not silently edited away.

To report an error, use the form on the contact page.

Conflicts of interest

I work commercially in search marketing. I founded LLM Scout, an AI visibility tool. I also founded Code Scout, a free desktop AI coding agent. If a note touches AI visibility tools, AI coding tools or services of the kind those companies sell, I disclose that interest in the note itself.

This site also promotes my own work as an AI consultant. That means AI audit and strategy, AI implementation and training, described on the work with me page. It also promotes the AI Visibility API, which is an LLM Scout project.

This site carries no advertising, no sponsored content and no affiliate links.

Other sites I own

I also own the following sites. They cover different subjects and are listed here so the relationship is clear:

AI strategy / Implementation / Training
